Auto Shift Manual Control Circuit High

Severity
Low
Driving
No driving restriction

The auto shift manual control circuit is stuck high - typically shorted to voltage or open circuit. The module either sees a shift request constantly or never sees one at all, so manual mode will not work correctly.

Possible causes

What you might notice

What to check, in order

  1. Watch the switch state without touching the control.
  2. Unplug the switch and check whether the high reading persists at the harness.
  3. Inspect a console control for spilled drink.
  4. Check the clock spring on steering-wheel-mounted controls.
  5. Confirm automatic shifting is unaffected.
