Gate Select Actuator Circuit High

Severity
High
Driving
Drive only to a garage

The gate select actuator circuit is reading high - typically shorted to voltage or a lost earth. The module cannot drive the actuator, so the selector shaft will not move across the gate and gear changes will fail.

Possible causes

What you might notice

What to check, in order

  1. Disconnect the actuator and check whether the high reading persists at the harness.
  2. Inspect the connector for corrosion and water.
  3. Measure the actuator winding against specification.
  4. Follow the harness looking for chafe damage at the gearbox.
  5. Run the calibration procedure after any repair.
