Pressure Control Solenoid "F" Control Circuit Low

Severity
High
Driving
Drive only to a garage

The control circuit for pressure control solenoid "F" is reading low - typically shorted to earth or an open circuit. The module cannot drive the solenoid, so line pressure cannot be controlled.

Possible causes

What you might notice

What to check, in order

  1. Disconnect at the case connector and check whether the low reading persists at the harness side. That establishes whether the fault is inside or outside the transmission.
  2. Read all transmission codes together. Several solenoid codes at once point at the case connector, the internal harness or contaminated fluid - not at several failed solenoids.
  3. Check the fluid level and condition first. It is the cheapest check and it explains more transmission complaints than every electrical fault combined.

Read this code from your own car

Plug an ELM327 adapter into the OBD-II port under the dashboard. Pin16 reads every stored, pending and permanent code, explains each one like this page does — offline, with no account — and shows what the car recorded when the fault was set.
