Pressure Control Solenoid "E" Control Circuit Range/Performance

Severity
High
Driving
Drive only to a garage

The control circuit for pressure control solenoid "E" is electrically connected but the current drawn does not match what was commanded. A reading slightly outside tolerance is what produces this rather than an outright electrical fault.

Possible causes

What you might notice

What to check, in order

  1. Measure the solenoid resistance at the case connector against specification.
  2. Perform a voltage drop test on the circuit to find high resistance in the wiring.
  3. Check the fluid level and condition first. It is the cheapest check and it explains more transmission complaints than every electrical fault combined.
