Throttle Actuator Control System - Stuck Closed

The throttle plate is stuck closed. The module commanded it open and it did not move, so the engine can only idle - the car will barely move, if at all. Carbon seizing the plate is again the usual reason.
Possible causes
- CommonCarbon seizing the throttle plate in its bore
- CommonFailed throttle actuator motor
- CommonCorroded connector or wiring fault, so the motor is never driven
- PossibleForeign object jamming the plate
- PossibleDamaged throttle body
What you might notice
- Car will not accelerate
- Engine idles but will not rev
- Reduced power warning
- Engine may stall
What to check, in order
- The car may be unable to move under its own power. Arrange recovery rather than trying to coax it along.
- Remove and inspect the throttle body for carbon and for anything jamming the plate.
- Check the motor is being driven electrically before assuming a mechanical jam.
- Run the throttle relearn procedure after any cleaning or replacement.
