- Drivable — book it in
No activity is being seen from oxygen sensor 2 on bank 1, downstream of the converter. The signal is flat rather than incorrect, which points at an open circuit, a dead sensor, or a failed heater keeping the sensor below operating temperature.
Possible causes
- CommonOpen circuit - broken wire or unplugged connector
- CommonFailed sensor heater
- CommonFailed oxygen sensor
- PossibleBlown fuse on the heater circuit
- PossibleCorrosion in the connector from road salt
What you might notice
- Check engine light on
- No drivability change
- Failed emissions test
What to check, in order
- Check the connector and the heater circuit fuse first.
- Inspect the wiring under the car - these leads are exposed to salt and stone damage.
- Look for a heater code stored alongside this one, which would identify the cause.
- Replace the sensor once wiring and fuse are eliminated.
