Fuel Shutoff Valve "B" Control Circuit Low

Severity
High
Driving
Drive only to a garage

The fuel shutoff valve "B" control circuit is reading low - typically shorted to earth or an open circuit. The module cannot control that fuel supply.

Possible causes

What you might notice

What to check, in order

  1. Disconnect the valve and check whether the low reading persists at the harness.
  2. Check the fuse and relay for the circuit before anything else.
  3. Check for battery voltage at the valve when it should be open.
  4. Measure the valve winding resistance against specification.
  5. Inspect the connector for corrosion - many of these valves are mounted underneath.
  6. On a bi-fuel vehicle, check whether the engine runs correctly on the other fuel. That single test separates a valve fault from a general fuel system problem.
