A fault in the control circuit for the cruise control lamp - the lamp that shows when cruise control is active. The system behind it may be working perfectly; what has failed is the indication. That still matters, because a warning lamp that cannot light is a warning you will not get.

Possible causes

What you might notice

What to check, in order

  1. Check whether the lamp lights during the ignition-on bulb check. If it never lights there, start with the bulb or the cluster.
  2. Confirm the system behind the lamp still works, so you know whether this is only an indication fault.
  3. Check the wiring between the module and the cluster.
  4. Do not dismiss this as cosmetic. The engine hot lamp in particular is how you find out about overheating before it becomes expensive.
