- Drivable — book it in
A fault in the circuit for the secondary air injection flow or pressure sensor on bank 2. This sensor is how the module confirms the air actually arrived. Without it the module cannot verify the system worked, so it reports a fault even if the pump and valves are fine.
Possible causes
- CommonFailed flow or pressure sensor
- CommonCorroded connector at the sensor
- CommonWiring damage near the exhaust
- PossibleBlocked or split hose to a pressure sensor
- PossibleLoss of reference voltage or earth
What you might notice
- Check engine light on
- Failed emissions test
- Usually no symptom the driver notices
What to check, in order
- Test from a genuinely cold start, since the system only runs then.
- Watch the sensor reading during a cold start on the live data screen. A reading that never changes while the pump runs identifies the sensor or its circuit.
- Inspect the connector for corrosion and the harness for heat damage.
- Check the sensing hose on a pressure sensor - these perish and block with carbon.
- Check the reference voltage and earth before condemning the sensor.

Plug an ELM327 adapter into the OBD-II port under the dashboard. Pin16 reads every stored, pending and permanent code, explains each one like this page does — offline, with no account — and shows what the car recorded when the fault was set.
