P2432
Secondary Air Injection System Air Flow/Pressure Sensor Circuit Low (Bank 1)
- Severity
- Low
- Driving
- Drivable — book it in
The secondary air flow or pressure sensor signal on bank 1 is stuck low - typically shorted to earth or an open circuit, though genuinely absent airflow will produce it too. The module cannot confirm the system worked.
Possible causes
- CommonWiring shorted to earth or open between the sensor and the module
- CommonCorroded or water-ingressed connector
- CommonFailed sensor
- CommonNo airflow at all - a failed pump or a completely blocked passage
- PossibleLoss of the sensor reference voltage
What you might notice
- Check engine light on
- Failed emissions test
- No pump noise on a cold start, in some cases
- Usually no symptom the driver notices
What to check, in order
- Listen for the pump on a cold start. Silence means the low reading is correct and the fault is the pump or its supply, not the sensor.
- Unplug the sensor and check whether the low reading persists at the harness.
- Check the reference voltage and earth at the sensor.
- Inspect the connector for corrosion and water.
- Check the harness for heat damage near the exhaust.

Plug an ELM327 adapter into the OBD-II port under the dashboard. Pin16 reads every stored, pending and permanent code, explains each one like this page does — offline, with no account — and shows what the car recorded when the fault was set.
