Verdict — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Verdict talks to Google and to nobody else. It reads your Play Console data from Google's own APIs, with the permission you give when you sign in, and keeps what it needs on your phone. There is no server of ours, no account with us, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting.
Verdict is an Android app for app developers. It tells you when Google has finished reviewing a release you sent to Google Play, and shows your apps' reviews and their crash and ANR rates. This policy explains what it reads, what it keeps, what it changes, and how to make it forget everything.
Signing in with Google
You sign in with your own Google account, in Google's own sign-in page. Verdict never sees your password. It asks Google for three permissions:
| Permission (scope) | What Verdict uses it for |
|---|---|
androidpublisherGoogle Play Android Developer API | Reading your apps' releases and the state Google's review has them in; reading your apps' reviews; and posting a reply to a review, only when you press Send. |
playdeveloperreportingGoogle Play Developer Reporting API | Listing the apps your account can see, with their names, and reading their daily crash and ANR rates. |
email | Showing which Google account is signed in, in Settings. |
Google describes the first permission as "view and manage your Google Play Developer account". The only thing Verdict ever changes is a reply to a review, and only one you wrote and sent yourself. It does not create, edit, roll out or halt releases; it does not touch store listings, prices, users or permissions; and it does not change anything in the background.
What the app reads from Google
- Your apps: package names and titles.
- Releases: track, release name, version codes and review state.
- Reviews: the reviewer's name as Google shows it, the star rating, the text, and your earlier reply if there is one.
- Vitals: each app's daily crash rate and ANR rate.
Reviews and vitals are shown on screen and held in memory while the app is open; they are not written to storage.
What the app keeps on your phone
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Google's sign-in tokens, and your account's email address | So the app stays signed in and can check for changes in the background. Kept in encrypted storage, with the key held in the Android Keystore. |
| The review state each release was last seen in (package name, track, version codes, state) | To notice when it changes, which is the whole point of the app. |
| Your canned replies | So answering a review is two taps and an edit. |
| Your settings: how often to check, and the language on Android 12 and older | To keep the app as you left it. |
| Your developer accounts: their names and which of your apps is in each | To show one account's apps at a time, as the Play Console does. |
None of it is included in Android's backup to your Google account: the app opts out of backup.
What leaves your phone
Only requests to Google. Verdict connects to Google's
sign-in service (accounts.google.com,
oauth2.googleapis.com), to the two APIs above
(androidpublisher.googleapis.com,
playdeveloperreporting.googleapis.com), and to the Google Play
Store (play.google.com). Nothing is sent to us or to any third
party, because the app contains no server address of ours and no third-party
SDK that collects data.
The Play Store request is how the app learns which developer account an app belongs to, which Google's APIs do not say: for an app in none of your accounts yet, it opens that app's public store page, the one anyone can open in a browser, and reads the developer's name from it. Only the app's package name goes with it: no sign-in token, no cookie and nothing about you.
A reply you send to a review goes to Google Play and is published under your app, as if you had typed it in the Play Console.
Checking in the background
Google sends no notification when a review finishes, so Verdict checks: by default every 30 minutes, at most every 15, and less often when Android is saving battery. You choose the interval in Settings. Each check asks Google for your releases and compares them with what was seen before. When Google approves, rejects or publishes a release, the app shows a notification on your phone. Nothing else happens in the background.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Verdict's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data is used only to show you your own apps, releases, reviews and vitals and to notify you of review results. It is not sold, not used for advertising, not transferred to anyone, and not read by any person other than you.
Permissions, and what each is for
| Permission | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Talking to Google's APIs, and waiting for a connection before a background check. |
| Notifications | Telling you a review has finished. Refusing it means the app still works but cannot tell you. |
| Run at startup, wake lock, foreground service | Declared by Android's WorkManager library, which schedules the background check and keeps it scheduled after the phone restarts. |
Signing out and deleting your data
- Sign out (Settings) removes the sign-in from the phone and asks Google to revoke Verdict's access to your account.
- Revoke access yourself at any time, from any device, at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Everything: uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, removes everything listed above. Nothing is kept anywhere else, because nothing was ever sent anywhere but Google.
Replies you posted to reviews are part of your Play Console and stay there; you can edit or delete them in the Play Console.
Children
Verdict is a tool for app developers and is not directed at children.

Google
Verdict |
|---|---|
Google
Android Keystore. |
Play Console. |
Google (accounts.google.com,
oauth2.googleapis.com), к двум API выше
(androidpublisher.googleapis.com,
playdeveloperreporting.googleapis.com) и к магазину Google Play
(play.google.com).
Play Console.
Play Console.
